SUMMARY:Building Resilience: Understanding Mental Health Well-Being in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:The need to support mental health in the workplace is more vital than ever.  The way we show up at work impacts our performance\, team dynamics\, productivity\, and our professional esteem. In this training\, we will review the impact of mental health and substance use in the workplace\, and how it can affect daily work life.  We will review specific strategies to manage stress\, support ourselves and others\, and understand the impact of trauma.\n\n\n\nThis training will be tailored to the Construction sector.\n\n	Starting with Self-Care: Prioritizing our own wellbeing\n	What is behavioral health\, and what factors\, either current or historical\, can contribute to our 'mental health' over time \n	Dispel stigmas and assumptions we often carry with mental health and substance misuse  \n	Examples of how common mental health struggles can 'show up' in the workplace \n	Impact of traumatic events on individuals and teams. \n	PACE framework to support help-seeking behavior\, either for yourself or your peers\n\nAfter this session\, your employees will have an introductory\, factual understanding of common mental health concerns\, and an introductory framework of how to approach or respond to conversations of mental health that support help-seeking behavior. \n\n\n\nSpeaker: Lisa Desai\, Psy.D.\, Director\, Workplace Consulting and Training\, Riverside Trauma Center\n\nDr. Desai has over 25 years of clinical and administrative experience across delivery systems in college counseling\, community mental health\, hospitals\, and private practice. In her current role\, Dr. Desai leads the development and implementation of behavioral health programs for workplaces and communities\, with the goal of building psychologically safe environments and reaching at-risk and underserved populations.
