AGC Edge: Building Information Modeling Education Program

Description

AGC Edge Building Information Modeling (BIM) Education Program is designed to educate construction professionals at all experience levels in BIM concepts and processes. The highly interactive virtual program provides instruction via Zoom and training to prepare construction industry professionals at all levels to take advantage of the benefits of BIM.

After participants complete all four courses in the program, they become eligible to sit for an exam to earn the Certificate of Management – Building Information Modeling (CM-BIM)

These four courses build on each other to combine the latest information on BIM processes and technologies, step-by-step procedures for integrating BIM into the project delivery process, real-life case studies of successful BIM implementation, and the practical issues all parties need to understand when using BIM on a construction project.

These classes are offered virtually by AGC of America for Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Suppliers, Owners, or others who are interested in earning their CM-BIM credentials.

BIM Learning Objectives

Courses will be offered online via the Zoom platform, a webcam is required for participation. Registration costs include all course participant’s materials.

Cancellation Policy: A full refund will be given to cancellations made 14 calendar days prior to the class kick-off. After such time, no refunds will be given. Replacements are acceptable and must be submitted via email to rockkie.dunton[@]agc.org.

AGC reserves the right to cancel programs up to 10 days prior to the start date if a minimum number of attendees is not met.

Meet Your Course Instructor:

Adam Lega

Adam is the BIM/Standards Manager for Apogee Consulting Group, P.A. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1997 with his Bachelor of Science degree, where he double majored in Architecture and English. He found his focus in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Information Technology (I.T.).

Adam has been in the Design and Construction industry since graduation, where he worked at the original Revit Technology Corporation before Autodesk acquired them. He made some side trips into the audio/visual and movie industries along the way, working with the Oscars and the EJAF Oscar Viewing Party.

Adam has developed standards, mapped workflow processes, and established deliverables for BIM across the AECO industries. He was a co-founder of the AGC St. Louis BIM Committee and a USACE/Industry BIM Consortium member. Adam is also a registered AGC CM-BIM instructor.

Adam likes to spend time with family, and as far as hobbies, well, he likes pretty much everything. He tries everything at least twice to make sure. His outlook on life – the glass is neither half-full nor half-empty; the glass is refillable.
